Because nothing should come between you and your treatment

To help you find reimbursement for and access to GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) oncology and specialty medicines, GSK offers the CARES by GSK program.

The CARES by GSK program supports oncology and specialty medications from GSK.

Click on a link below to learn more about what the CARES by GSK program offers.

Reimbursement support

The health insurance system can be complex. To help you better understand your insurance coverage and payment options, CARES by GSK counselors can:

  • Verify your insurance benefits, no matter what type of insurance you have: Medicare, Medicaid, private payers, Veterans Affairs/VHA, TRICARE, AIDS drug assistance programs, children’s health insurance programs, state elderly drug assistance programs, and other state and local payers
  • Help with prior authorization so that you have little trouble getting the treatment you need
  • Provide detailed coverage information, including a co-pay forecast
  • Help with denied and underpaid claims and make sure that claims were processed correctly
  • Research foundations and figure out your eligibility for GSK patient assistance programs
  • Find specialty pharmacies with low co-pays.

Patient assistance programs

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) offers several patient assistance programs to support patients with income limitations. Patients may be eligible if they are uninsured (have no prescription drug benefits), underinsured (have only generic prescription coverage), or if they have commercial insurance but need co-pay assistance. Commitment to Access also offers support to Medicare patients.

Patients must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify to receive co-pay assistance or Commitment to Access support. Taking into account the size of the patients family and state in which you live, your gross income must be within one of the ranges listed below. These are gross monthly incomes, meaning the amount you make each month before taxes are taken out.

Income eligibility requirements:

Puerto Rico applicants at or below 200% FPL are not eligible for the GSK Co-Pay Assistance Program and are referred to Puerto Rico’s Government Health Plan

All sources of the patient's gross monthly income will be considered when determining the relationship of the household's income to the Federal Poverty Level.

GSK Co-Pay Assistance

Some people may receive GSK Co-Pay Assistance. This program is for people who have prescription coverage but who need extra help paying for their oral medicine.

You may qualify for GSK Co-Pay Assistance if you:

  • Live in one of the 50 States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico, excluding residents of Massachusetts
  • Have commercial prescription drug coverage

You will not receive GSK Co-Pay Assistance if you:

  • Have come to the United States seeking healthcare and live outside the United States
  • Have insurance coverage through a government-funded program such as Medicare or Medicaid
  • Are enrolled in a health plan that does not permit members to participate in co-pay assistance programs

If you qualify, you will be responsible for paying the approved co-pay amount for each fill of the qualifying GSK medicine listed below. Your co-pay amount will be dependent on your household income. Applicants with copayments or coinsurance that exceeds 50% will be responsible for any remaining costs not covered by their insurance plan or GSK Co-Pay Assistance Program.
